OLIVIA OTTEN
To me, yoga is a life-long practice in mindfulness. Yoga helps me to slow down, reflect and get out of my head and in to my body. Most importantly, it irrevocably changed my life in helping me manage anxiety and recover from PTSD. On a physical level it has been the only healing practice that has significantly helped my chronic back pain from scoliosis. Although I’m Ashtanga trained and taught Vinyasa for many years, Restorative and Yin yoga as well as breath-work and Nidra meditation is what I’m currently most passionate about practicing and teaching. I’ve taught classes and workshops in Cape Town, London, Seychelles and now Los Angeles. I believe that if you can breathe, you can do yoga. Yoga should be for every body and everybody. My dream is to one day see yoga, breath work and meditation practices transcend current socio-economic confinement and to be used in holistic healing in the mainstream wellness sphere.
